Firmware Update (Windows)

Download the following ZIP archive containing the latest firmware:

https://download.digital-devices.eu/download/firmware/html/download/OctopusUpdate_Windows.zip

Extract the contents of the ZIP file into a newly created folder.
Open the folder and execute OctopusUpdate.bat (either by double-clicking or from the command line).
DDControlCenter will start.
Select the card you want to update in the left navigation menu under "Devices."
If a newer version is available, an update button will appear on the device's page.
Click the button to start the firmware update process.
After the firmware update is complete, you must power cycle (power off) the PC. A restart or reset is not sufficient.

Note

It is possible to update multiple cards before the required power cycle.

After power cycling the PC, check the installed firmware version in DDControlCenter.

To verify if the latest firmware was installed, you can run the OctopusUpdate.bat batch file again. If no update button is displayed, the latest version is already installed.

Automated Execution

You may run the firmware upgrade script as root to avoid all manual steps. The script downloads and executes the update automatically.

Execution Examples:

To update a specific card (e.g., card 2):

Manual Execution Steps:

Download the latest dddvb repository:

If you already have it, update it:

Build the ddupdate tool:

Download and extract firmware files:

Run the firmware update:

To update all cards:

0.310 - MC 0.35.3	18. Jun 2025	BUGFIX for: 1. Sat: No lock on local frequencies between 1970 to 1976 MHz. For universal LNBs this affects highband transponders in the range 12570 - 12576 MHz i.E. Astra 19.2 transponder * 12574H 22000 * On Unicable it could render some Userbands unusable. i.E. GT-SAT GT-DLNB1T userband 21 (1975 MHz) 2. CI may lockup, Note this was only observed on a high datarate device (up to 432 MByte/s) which shares the same DMA engine.

Hinweis: Verhält sich etwas anders als beim MaxM4, falls der ausgewählte Stream nicht existiert. MaxM4 → NO LOCK MaxM2, OctopusCIM2 → Rückfall auf Stream 0.
